Brilliant result, not a brilliant performance though. Whenever the team had to defend, the players looked ready to pee in their shorts. Laos is the weakest team in the group and traditionally very weak defensively, so let's not get overconfident and screw it up in the group stages before the tournament has even begun.

Agree that this win will boost team confidence, but the performance was poor. It was like we were transposed to the long balls of 80s. There was no teamwork at all. Nobody was bothered to gain control of the ball and make a pass. They look unsettled, afraid to make a pass that if they make a mistake in the process and lose the ball , it will more embarrassing. So to go by the easy way and to get rid of such a situation they though the only option for them is to shoot it on sight. Unless FAM provide them with long term preparation this is the sight we are going to see in every tournament, our players will not get confidence on the ball.
