Male’, MALDIVES – Palestine coach Jamal Mahmood said that he is not happy with the preparation of his team for the AFC Challenge Cup that will kick off in the Maldives from tomorrow.

Speaking at the pre match press conference held at Paradise Island Resort this afternoon, Jamal said that his team is ready for the tournament even though he is not satisfied with the preparation.

“I am not happy with the preparation for this tournament but we are ready for the tournament.”

“We played some friendly games but that was not enough and it was not like what I planned.”

Jamal also said that the four teams in the group have equal opportunities to qualify for the semifinal of the tournament.

“Every team has equal chance to qualify for the tournament and we all have equal opportunities.”

On the other hand Kyrgyzstan coach Sergey Dvoryankov said that his team is fully prepared for the first match of the tournament.

“We have been preparing for this tournament from a long time and we are fully prepared for the first game. We have analyzed some video footage of Palestine matches and we hope that we can get a good result against them.”

It seems most of the teams are not prepared for this tournament. Is this part of their mind games to take off guard their opponents or they are telling the truth, they are not well prepared. But be warned, still nobody can unserp Maldives from its perch of under-preparation.As if their preparation is not enough players come into this tournament without domestic league, it was postponed. Who else can have such distinction of doing a double whammy?
