Maldivians “hope” to National Team

Male', MALDIVES - At an event held yesterday at National stadium, representative from each island of the Maldives handed over their well wishes to the national team for the upcoming SAFF championship.

Representative from each island signed the “Maldivian’s hope” and each atoll separately handed over the signed statement to the president of FAM.

The statements from the representatives were handed over to the manager of the team, Ibrahim Amir by FAM president Ilham Ahmed.

The statement says “Maldivian National Football Team is the pride of Maldivians. Winning SAFF championship on 2008 with a great performance boost the love and trust for National team”

“We, all maldivians believe that the current squad is the best squad that can be chosen, We are proud that there are talented and skillful players of the region in the squad”

“Winning the trophy with the will of Allah, under the instruction of the coach is the hope of all Maldivians”

“Maldivians urge the players to make our flag, the lowest lying country’s flag to fly over Nepal where the highest mountain in the world is”
