Maldives to start practice on 11th

Maldives national team will start their practice on 11th August for the SAFF Championship.

Male’, MALDIVES – Maldives national football team will start the practices on 11th of August to prepare for the upcoming SAFF Championship to be held from 1-11 September in Nepal.

Speaking to maldivesoccer.com Director of national teams, Ali Suzain said that they had a meeting with the national team squad today.

“We had a meeting with the players today to inform them the things ahead of the SAFF Championship.”

He also said that they have finalized a squad of 30 players and they will minimize it to 23 players before starting the practice.

“At the moment we have finalized a squad of 30 players but we will minimize it to 23 players on 6th of August."

Suzain also said that Maldives will play a friendly match against the foreign players, who are playing in the league and then will travel to Thailand.

“We will play a friendly match against the foreign players and will play another three friendly games in Thailand.”

Maldives will play their first game of the ten day tournament against Sri Lanka on 2nd September.
