Male', MALDIVES - Maldives placed in the group B of upcoming SAFF Championship in Nepal alongside Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Bhutan.
In the group A defending champions India, tournament host Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan will battle and consider the group as the group of Death.
The tournament will start on 1st September with Maldives' first game to be played on 2nd September against Sri Lanka.
Afghanistan is likely to give the strongest competition to Maldives in the group to finish on top of the table.
Maldives last game against Afghanistan came in 2009 with a 3-1 win while Maldives beat Sri Lanka in the semi final of the same edition by 5-1.
