Victory's Kaka playing against Valencia in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi League. They were not paid for two months

Male’, MALDIVES – Victory Sports Club’s assistant manager Ibrahim Hisaan has said to maldivesoccer.com that they will not ask the players anymore to play for them without settling their salaries.

In an exclusive interview given to maldivesoccer.com today Hisaan said that they have asked and begged them to play for the last match of the league even though they were not paid but, now they won’t do it anymore.

“We begged them to play in the last game of the league to secure the position in the league even though they were not paid. But now we will not do that. We can’t do promises if things are not happened as we said.”

He also said that the club management has said to them that before the last game of the league that they will settle the salaries and everything before the FA Cup but nothing has happened so far.

“The management has told us that they will settle everything but so far nothing has happened. The management didn’t do much to help the players and we, the officials of the team did everything possible for us to help them."

He also said that with this month’s salary the players and coach have three months unpaid salary.

There are rumors that Victory players are refusing to play in the FA Cup quarter final match against New Radiant if there were not paid.

What had happened to the weeping and the tears Suzian and former players shed in the relegation match when they barely survived. The scene was straight of Nahula’s movie. We thought things will get back to normal and Victory will back with a bang next season after the emotional scenes unfold in front of our years. How quickly they forget. How quickly they forget the hard work done by unpaid players. Now that they have secured their place in the first division maybe they don’t even know their players. If this is the level of commitment of biggest team and how quickly they dismiss players’ effort, no wonder our football is doomed. We will lurch from one crisis to another.

This is very sad what VSC management are doing! Unfortunately, we have the same situation in Valencia too! To my mind, we have a couple of issues as the root cause of this situation in some clubs. We have great fans, great players but the management of some clubs have- 1) no love for football and 2) are not competent in the area of financial and business management.

Even though suzain and them was in tears, they did nothing for the club this year. so yes, it was just a dramatic scene. but VICTORY has lot of supporters, and Victory will be always be victory, the king of Maldivian football. they will overcome this and I heard that they will be stronger next year!

I dont believe this. All players and the coaching staff salaries have been paid and are up do date. These are just rumours to disrupt Victory's preparation for next year. Victory,New, Maziya, AYL, BG,VB, Eagles do not have salary issues as they are run professionally. The truth is VALENCIA only has problems with salary, if there is another Club with salary issues these should have been covered by the media long time ago and Victory not playing players and coaching staff is utter rubbish evn though Assistant Manager has said this.

The football association needs to be more attentive to these matters and should always have laws regarding these matters..for instance the main professionalism in this sort of situation is to have agreements made to sponsors which should pay salaries..for the team..it shud not or never comeout of the hands of supporters or officials..i think the football in the maldives will develop as soon as clubs are handled by large enterprising companies..sad to say this..but u knw its sad but true!!

This is the sad reality of Maldivian football then and now. the only difference a lot more players are moving from one club to the other and there is no team spirit with players anymore. Previously players even though they are not paid would be with the club knowing that the management would pay all their dues. Now a player from here and there makes up a team and these players cant afford to stay without being paid. My advise to MS is if these issues are covere it more fairly rather than going behind the back of clubs and reporting. Report what is the truth which is all clubs have salary issues including Maziya and New Radiant.

The truth is, that the club didnt pay 4 months salary. Thats the reality! Victorys board can be happy, that they had players this year, which performed even without being paid. One of the main person which is behind this mess, is Dr. Nash! A men, which doesnt know a damn thing about football! A men, which is more concentrating on travelling around the world instead of settling the problems. All he does, is empty promises. He has been, asked to leave the club and to handle it over to others. He refused! He cant run the club, but still he is refusing to give it away... Thats his stupidy! Not being able, to pluck the apple from the tree, so others which are able to do so, shouldnt overtake the club, because then everyone can see, that Nash isnt cabaple of running this! He is a shame for our beloved football.
