Male’, MALDIVES – Club Valencia has failed to pay their outstanding payment to FIFA for their foreign players for a third time.

According to a reliable source, maldivesoccer.com can confirm that Alek Nobert’s lawyer gave a deadline to mid-July but the club even didn’t respond to those mails from the player’s lawyer and still they have to pay USD 20,000.00 (MVR 308,400.00) plus 6% interest per annum.

It is believed that the lawyer has already sent the case to FIFA’s disciplinary committee and they will make a decision soon.

One of the board members of Valencia said to maldivesoccer.com that they don’t know any information about the financial situation of the club and they got these news on coffee tables.

“We don’t know anything about these issues, we were not informed and we can hear only these stories from coffee tables.” A board member told to maldivesoccer.com today.

He also said that in his belief there is not board now and they were not active to run the club.

“Yes, I don’t believe that there is a board now even though no one resigns from the post. The club is now on a financial turmoil and no one wants to work for the betterment of the club.”

“There are nine members of the board and if none of them were aware of the current situation of the club then, there is no need to be a member of the board.”

Alek Nobert, who played for the club in 2009 during the time when Abdulla Jabir was the chairman of the club, submitted the issue to FIFA as the club has unsettled payments to the player.

Other than Nobert, Valencia has still to pay USD 13,610.00 to Cameroon player Nkemi A Rim Marcelin who played for Valencia from 2007 to 2009.

On March 09, 2013 Valencia settled the amount they owe to Charles Wright Gaye when the Football Association of Maldives had taken care of him when he was living without proper water and electricity for nearly four months.

A reliable source has confirmed to maldivesoccer.com that Valencia’s voting right for the last election of FAM was given to club’s official and FAM’s then vice president Hiyalee Mohamed Rasheed when he agreed to settle the outstanding payments of the club. But nothing has happened even after the election.

There is a probability that Club Valencia will be relegated to second division again. All because of a management without any managing skills.

The Current board members have got the responsibility to bring the club out of this crisis. Sadly the board seems to be sleeping, doing nothing!. The board members are Rai Rasheed (chairman), Bassam Adeel Jaleel (V.chairman), Mubeen Jaleel (general secretary), and board members Hassan Abdulla (Vadi), Hassan Mohamed ( H. Gissaage), Mohamed Mujthaz ( Ma. Sigma), Hassan Waheed ( Binma), Mohamed Arif (redbird, S. hithadhoo) and Ahmed Shareef (Maadu).

If the board members are hearing the news over the coffee table, isn't it their responsibility to check on this news and see for themselves what is happening inside the Club? i guess i have to invite the board members for coffee now and tell them about the FIFA debt and what may happen if it is not settled. My question to the board members is: why are you in the board?
