New Radiant wins friendly against Nilandhoo

Male', Maldives - New Radiant sports club has won their friendly game against F.Nilandhoo by 5-1 today. The game was played in Nilandhoo to mark the official opening of a grass pitch by the people of Nilandhoo.

Goals for the current league champions of Maldives were scored by Ali Ashfaaq, who netted twice before the break, Niyaz, new signing Umair and youth player Aiman. Nilandhoo's only goal came from former Blues player Farhaad from the spot.

After the game New Radiant chairman presented a club jersey set to the island and invited four players to join New Radiant trials.

New Radiant has a huge fan base in the island, mostly due to the number of players from the island who marked their name in football in New Radiant. Most notably New Radiant's current director of football Anwar Ali and Farhaad, both played for New Radiant.
