Male’, MALDIVES – Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has postponed the curtain raiser for the season 2014, Charity Shield, match between New Radiant and Maziya due to the ongoing renovation work at the national stadium.
Speaking to maldivesoccer.com, FAM’s general secretary Hussain Shahid has said that they have postponed the match due the renovation work and they will decide a date for Charity Shield match later.
“We have decided to postpone the Charity Shield match due to the ongoing work at the stadium. But we will decide a date later for that match.”
He also said that even this match was postponed there won’t be any delay for the AFC Cup matches.
“We are confident that there won’t be any issues for the AFC Cup matches.
Meanwhile, AMIN Constructions Operations Manager, Mohamed Sajid said to maldivesoccer.com that at the moment they are using the pitch area for the upgrading project but it will be finished for the AFC Cup matches.
“At the moment we are using pitch area for the works but we are sure there won’t be any difficulties for the AFC Cup matches.”
