Haha!!! The current bid is cancelled and the new bid (documents) will be opened on 6th January, BUT minister is CONFIDENT that on FIRST week works will be started!!! Even if the awarded party starts on the 7th January (wich means they indeed starts the works on the FIRST WEEK), its amazing how these guys are trying to run this thing, as well as trying to fool us in every angle possible!!! C'mon if i say i am going to start something in 2013 that does not mean start it on December 31st???!!!

They should have started working on the preparations as soon as we won the hosting rights in November 2012. It's really disappointing to realize that they have wasted a whole year! They could have made an achievable schedule and renovated the 2 stadiums and turned them into really good venues, but as usual, they are scrambling at the last minute. We'll probably not see much in the way of renovation works at Galolhu Stadium, maybe just touch up everything with a little bit of paint. The stadium at Addu City could also have been upgraded and turned into a place where they could really develop football down at the south, but I guess they will just build a temporary stand at one part of the pitch. Such lackluster administration should be punishable. The whole FAM management team should to taken to the Majilis and questioned under that committee. We as supporters have a right to know why everyone involved in this project have failed big time.

The problem is with previous management. They left so much of a mess. The new management should not make promises they cannot keep. We all know government spending is ballooned and barely has any monies left for any thing developmental. What we are missing is a supporters voice to be heard. We should have some kind of a supports association which should have a stake in FAM. This is normally done for town and club football but in Maldives this is an extreme case of negligence. Football is only surviving here because of the passion some players, supporters have.
