Male’, MALDIVES – National team manager Ibrahim Amir has resigned from the post last night. Director of National teams, Ali Suzain has said that Amir resigned regarding a decision taken by Football Association of Maldives.
“Amir has resigned from the post and it was national team coach, who has decided to include Hassan Adhuham and Ismail Easa in the squad but Amir refused to travel if they were in the team.”
“During the Thailand camp both of them left the hotel without informing the manager and when we check their status they went to have some food outside. And at that time we gave full authority to Amir to take a decision and they apologize for their mistake and even they were not paid the pocket money as of that.”
Suzain also said that if Amir sends them back to Maldives on that time there won’t be any issues with that.
“They stayed with the team and they did participate the practices and coach has used them in the trainings. But if they were not in the team at that time the coach would have used an alternative for them.” Suzain said.
Suzain also said that they have omitted Ahmed Zaad and Moosa Yamin from the team and 22 players will travel to Nepal tomorrow night.
“Zaadh and Yamin was omitted from the team and we will take 22 players but we will finalize the 20 players there on 30th.”
Maldives will play their first game on 2nd September against Sri Lanka.
