Amir resigns

Amir receiving the "hope of Maldivians" from president Ilham, he has resigned from that post.

Male’, MALDIVES – National team manager Ibrahim Amir has resigned from the post last night. Director of National teams, Ali Suzain has said that Amir resigned regarding a decision taken by Football Association of Maldives.

“Amir has resigned from the post and it was national team coach, who has decided to include Hassan Adhuham and Ismail Easa in the squad but Amir refused to travel if they were in the team.”

“During the Thailand camp both of them left the hotel without informing the manager and when we check their status they went to have some food outside. And at that time we gave full authority to Amir to take a decision and they apologize for their mistake and even they were not paid the pocket money as of that.”

Suzain also said that if Amir sends them back to Maldives on that time there won’t be any issues with that.

“They stayed with the team and they did participate the practices and coach has used them in the trainings. But if they were not in the team at that time the coach would have used an alternative for them.” Suzain said.

Suzain also said that they have omitted Ahmed Zaad and Moosa Yamin from the team and 22 players will travel to Nepal tomorrow night.

“Zaadh and Yamin was omitted from the team and we will take 22 players but we will finalize the 20 players there on 30th.”

Maldives will play their first game on 2nd September against Sri Lanka.

Another sad day for maldivian football . Its hard to judge since both of them have their own justification for their respective decisions. The main point is did they consider how this would effect the team as its almost 2 to 3 days for the most awaited soccer tournament for saff countries .this is not the time to bring your personal grudges or differences but to join hands and support our beloved team to make us proud and let the country celebrate the succes like in 2008 leaving aside our poltical rivalries .inshallah lets all pray for their victory to almighty allah . " Pride of maldives "

Meanwhile F.A.M president is in a political campaign for the upcoming presidential election and not caring what is happening and what is going to happen to the national football team. This just SAD. This time i am having second thoughts about the performance that the Maldives National Football Team is going to show in the upcoming SAFF Championship in Nepal.

Messi ey? Its funny how these local players call them selves with these names and can not even play no where close to a third division European player standard (except for ashfaq who i think is exceptionally talented to play in any league - also umair) Get your acts straight and start using some other names please!

It is indeed the manager's duty and responsibilities to check and verify whether players have their proper food and rest accordingly. Players will have moods and emotional changes but manager should manage those things, if not they will leave premises to seek food this is human nature. "Amir men kufoo hama nuvay manager kamah"

Did dhagan'dey, Imran went??? If no, then you are talking $h!t. Even if they did this i will still support the idea of suspending them!!! There should be no one above our believes and values!!! When Dhagey and Imran ate the same food and stayed in the same hotel, even if it happens to be really that bad, they did not run away to eat at KFC or to stay at Hilton, why??? If Dhagey and Imran can "digest" this ,so called poor arrangements, i CAN NOT allow anyone else in the team to misbehave!!!!

People! Focus! The main person or item is not Amir, right now. It's sad but the incident has happened. Move on and start thinking about the rest of the team and the officials. Start debating the squad, the first 11, the strategies and the support we are going to show for our team!
