SAFF C'ship: Nepal 1 -1 Pakistan

Kathmandu, NEPAL – Nepal scored a late goal to come back from one goal down to grab a point against Pakistan in the sixth match of SAFF Championship 2013 played today.

Hassan Bashir gifted the lead for Pakistan in the 12th minute of the game. Bashir’s powerful shot from edge of the penalty area thundered in to the left bottom corner of the goal through the crowded area.

Half hour in first half, Hassan Bashir missed an open scoring chance, Nepal defender and keeper clashed while clearing the ball and Hassan Bashir received the ball, but his shot goes inches over the crossbar.

Even though Nepal was one goal down, they dominated the game and created numerous chances in the game but none was ended fruitful.

In 60th minute of the game Pakistan goalkeeper Yousuf Butt made a good save on Sagar Thapa’s header from Raju’s corner kick.

Ten minutes later Jumanul Rai missed a free header from inside the penalty area. His header went over the crossbar.

Bimal scored the awaiting leveler for Nepal in the additional minute of the game, his lower shot from inside the penalty area slide through in to the net giving hope for the home fans.

While each team played 2 games in Group-A, Nepal top Group-A with 4 points and goal difference to India who also gathered 4 points. Bangladesh and Pakistan follows them with 1 point each.

In the next game of the tournament in Group-B, Afghanistan will play against Sri Lanka tomorrow at 14:45 while Maldives will line-up against Bhutan at 17:45 same day.

Nepal always plays well. But they are poor with scoring. I dont know when they are going to improve on it. It seems Maldives and Afghanistan going to play the final.

Best soccer seen from Maldives and Pakistan. India seems very poor this time. So opportunity is open for us inshaAllah.
