Male’, MALDIVES – Maziya’s head coach Ali Suzain said that he don't have any pressure ahead of the AFC Cup play off match against Philippines Ceres La Salle Football Club tomorrow here in the capital city of Male, Maldives.

“I don’t have any pressure ahead of this game eventhough if it’s a play off game. We have 90 minutes to play and we can win the game if the players performed as they are doing now, we can win it.” Maziya’s head coach Ali Suzain said in the pre match press conference.

“We will fight for a win and if our senior players especially the national team players performed well I am sure we can win the match against Ceres.”

When asked about the role of their newly signed playmaker Mohamed Umair, he replied that it was a huge advantage for them to have him.

“Umair will start in tomorrow’s game and he is not a new player to play with these players in Maziya. And I can say that he will perform well in this match.”

On the other hand his counterpart Cha Soung Yooung, head coach of Ceres La Salle Football Club said that they will work for a win and this will be their debut in AFC Cup.

“We came here for a win and this is our first match in AFC Cup but Maziya is a very experienced team in this tournament and I hope for a good game.”

“We don’t have much information about Maziya and all we knew is that they have few players from the national team. Most important thing is to prepare my team and not to think about Maziya."

Ceres’s hitman Spanish, Adrian Gallardo said that they need to win this match and it will be a historic win for them.

“We need to win this match and it will be a historic win for us and our country. We are fully preared for this match and everyone is ready for this game.”

Maziya will play against Ceres tomorrow evening at 1600 hours at National Football Stadium.

I hate to see Suzain reaping all the benefits of Imma, his years of tireless work at Maziya not appropriately credited, with current coach being overly praised for a supposed dramatic turn around. Its like Maldives patients after taking weeks of treatment in Male’ and when they are on the brink of recovery mode go to india, take couple of tablets from a ‘miracle doctor’ as they call them and talk in a disparaging tone as if to discredit doctors in Male’. I hope to see Imma fairly acknowledged by his former club for bringing out Maziya from obscurity to national recognition.

That's classic Suzain for you. But I honestly don't think Imma cares. He's the sort of person who prefers to work low key and is not fussed about legacies or reputations. But that's why Imma is the Assistant Coach of the national team and Suzain is not.
