Blues wins Veterans cup

Male', MALDIVES - New Radiant has won the Karbo Veterans Cup today after beating Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSC) by 4-1.

DSC took the lead of the match; Ahmed Shakeeb broke the deadlock in the 19th minute. However, Former National team captain Mohamed Nizam equalized for New Radiant in the 32nd minute.

New Radiant took the lead in the 38th minute when Nizam strikes a free kick into opponent’s goal. In the 44th minute Nizam completed his hat trick of the match.

Fourth goal for New Radiant came in the 59th minute from Ahmed Naseem (Ammadey).

Mohamed Nizam was named as the man of the match, best player of the tournament, best striker of the tournament and top scorer of the tournament. He scored 14 goals in the tournament.

Best player of over 50 years old and best goal keeper was AYL’s Ibrahim Saleem.

Ahmed Firaq of DSC was the best defender and Mohamed Ibrahim of New Radiant was the best midfielder. DSC was the fair play team.

This is the first time New Radiant won Veterans Cup.
