Kathmandu, NEPAL - Maldives coach Istavan Urbanyi has stated that his target is to finish the group at the top. Speaking to local media yesterday he said that his basic aim is to qualify for the semifinal.

“Yeah this is the group final, our target is clear; we want to finish at the top of the group. that was the original plan. Basic aim is to qualify for the semifinal”

Speaking about Afghanistan he said the opponent is a strong side.

“It’s going to be a tough game against a strong opponent, but we will try to do our best”

He also said that he will use the skills of the players when playing against the physical Afghanistan.

“It’s a well organized team they play a strong 4-4-2 system with good physical ability. They have experienced players and good team work. We will try to use our skills”

The Hungary coach said that the target will be achieved by winning against all the teams though tomorrow’s game going to be a tough challenge.

“As a coach, as a player in my entire life I wanted to win. If we want to achieve our target we have to beat everybody. It’s not easy but that is the challenge”

Urbanyi said that his target is go to the final either playing against India or Nepal. But also he accept that the home crowd will be an advantage for Nepal.

“We played against Nepal two years ago in AFC challenge cup competition and that was full crowd and it was a very competitive match and we won it. If we play Nepal or if we play India, either way our target is to go to final. Definitely Nepal is having the home advantage, not only because of the crowd, there are some other reasons as well”

Urbanyi added that there will be some changes in tomorrow’s game.

“Definitely there will be some changes. We have some tired players in the last game. I gave chance to two young guys messi (easa) and aako (imaz). Messi just came from a long term injury so that was no problem at all that his performance was not perfect. Beyond that team performance was not best in the first half so we had to change, not only the players but the mentality and the thinking. I think the second half was impressive one of the best so far”

Concluding he said that his target is not scoring a lot of goals but playing a beautiful game.

“Normally as a coach you don’t target in scoring a lot of goals. Our target is we have a well-organized team and to play a beautiful game and yesterday the second half was a good football”
