SAFF C'ship: Nepal 0 – 1 Afghanistan

Kathmandu, NEPAL – Afghanistan beats host Nepal one goals to nil to enter in to the final of the SAFF Championship 2013.

Taking advantage of a blunder from Nepal goalkeeper, Sanja handed the lead to Afghanistan in the Tenth minute of the game. Limbu loose a ball in to Saja’s feet just in front of the goal and Sanja made no mistake to shoot the ball in to the goal.

Afghanistan goalkeeper made some brilliant saves in the final five minutes of the first half. Keeper Gagriyar stopped Anil Gurung in two open chances before producing a high jumped punch in a dangerous cross in to the box.

Nine minutes remaining in the clock Belal well headed Mustafa’s cross but it went across the goal.

Eighty fifth minute Nepal was awarded with a penalty kick when goalkeeper fouls on Bimal. Goalkeeper first saved the penalty kick by Rohit but Referee whistle to retake it as Afghan player was found inside the box before penalty was taken. Rohit again took the spot kick but keeper Gagriyar saved it again from his left bottom corner.

Referee showed 7 minutes as added time and Afghanistan enjoyed in wasting the time as fully as they can and match ended in favor of Afghanistan which took them in to the final of the regional tournament for the second consecutive time.

In the second semifinal of the tournament Maldives will play against India tomorrow at 17:45 (Maldives time).
