It’s amazing says Sanjar

Kathmandu, NEPAL – Afghanistan’s Sanjar Ahmadi has said that he is very happy with the win against the host nation, Nepal in the semi final of the ongoing SAFF Championship.

Sanjar Ahmadi, who is playing in German club Hamburg scored the winner against Nepal in the 10th minute, said that it’s amazing that they won the game against Nepal.

“I feel very good and it’s amazing today. The atmosphere in the stadium is very good and nice people here. Like 2011 we won again and we are very happy with this win.”

Maldivesoccer.com asked about his feelings when he scored the only goal against Nepal, he said that it doesn’t matter that who has scored the goal.

“It doesn’t matter who scored the goal but the team played well and I scored my first goal in this tournament for my country. I am very happy that I scored the winner against Nepal that helped them to reach the final.”

When asked about the opponent in the final he said that they doesn’t matter who plays against them.

“For us it doesn’t matter who plays against us whether it is India or Maldives. Insha Allah we will win this tournament this time and I hope India will be in the final.”

Afghanistan captain, Haroon Fakhruddin said that it was a great win for the Afghans who were disappointed two years back.

“Oh it’s a great win for us and it’s a dream come true. Two years ago we played in the final and it was a disappointing result for us but now we are in the final again and we are ready for it.”

Fakhruddin, who plays for Indian I league club Mumbai FC also said that they doesn’t matter who will play against them in the final.

“India and Maldives are good teams but we don’t know much about it and we are ready for the final who ever it is.”

“It’s a dream come true when we won a match against the host nation in front of their own supporters.”
