MP Ilham Ahmed wins the election by 9-4

2223: Ali Azim congratulated Ilham.

2215: The elected five members for the executive committee of FAM are; Adam Manik (8), Nooh Ali (11), Ahmed Mohamed (12), Mohamed Wisham (9) and Ibrahim Waheed (7). The other candidates for the Exco includes; Ahmed Niyaz (3), Ahmed Naseem (5), Ali Shameem (6) and Ibrahim Nashid (4).

2149: Abdul Muhusin Hameed wins the Vice President post by 8-5

2145: Voting started for the FA Vice President. Abdul Muhusin and Hiyalee Mohamed Rasheed are the candidates for the post.

2138: Ilham wins the election by 9-4.

2132: Second round of the voting started... Ilham got 8 votes from the 13 while, Azim got 4 votes from the first round.

2127: Ibrahim Ismail said that both the candidates failed to secure 2/3 of the total votes and as per the FA rules they will go for a second round.

2126: Ibrahim Ismail said either candidate

2123: Ilham took the lead by 8-4.

2121: Electoral committee started to count the votes.

2111: Voting starts...

2102: Ibrahim Ismail- I hope this time we can hold the election smoothly and I tank all the clubs and the general secretary Shah Ismail for the assistance give to us during the election process.

2101: FA President Ali Azim hands over the floor to the FIFA appointed electoral committee.

2051: Ahmed Shakir of RLC and Mohamed Nazeeh of AYL was appointed as the observers of the votes.

2050: Abdulla Ahmed of Vyansa and Ali Muard of BG Sports was appointed as the ones who will be writing the minutes of the congress.

2046: Azim- We have to respect the parties who were helping for the development of Maldivian football and I urge all those who involve in this to work as a team.

2041: Azim- Since 2008 we have seen a lot of good changes in football and specially for the younger generation as well as the women’s football. And now we can see those changes.

Male’, MALDIVES – Football Association of Maldives (FAM)’s fifth congress starts. FAM's current president Ali Azim started the annual congress and said in his remarks that today will be a historic day for Maldivian football.

Well at least FIFA are not going to suspend us. I hope Ilham and the team continue the good work initiated by Azim to continue grassroots development and also work to arrange friendlies and prepare the national team for the Challenge Cup. I really, really hope that this isn't a case of same shit, different people. Please, Ilham, if you are reading this, don't get too smug, forget politics and concentrate on improving our damn football. But of course, this is not going to happen...
