Oppo omits from national team
Male’ MALDIVES – National Team manager Ibrahim Amir says that midfielder Ibrahim Fazeel (Oppo) will not play against Pakistan in the upcoming friendly match.
Speaking at a press conference held at FAM house today Amir said that Oppo is injured and is not in the country.
“Oppo went to Colombo last night and he will not play in the two friendly matches against Pakistan.”
He also said that Ashfaq is also injured but they will make a decision on him only after the team physician checks him after he returns from Colombo.
“Dhagey is also injured and we will decide about him when he returns from Colombo.”
In the press conference National team coach Istvan Urbanyi shared his view on friendly matches.
“I am more than happy to play friendly matches especially at home and there is no specific time to play matches. The players are practicing with the teams for the season and I need to improve them in some aspects.”
Speaking about Pakistan Urbanyi said that they are a very strong side.
“Pakistan is a very physical team and they just had a great match against Nepal. And this will be a good opportunity for our players to show our strength.”
Maldives will play the first match against Pakistan on 12th night at 2100 hrs at National Stadium and the second match on 14th of this month.
