Male’, MALDIVES - Nepalese Head Coach Krishna Thapa is aiming to win against regional nations, Maldives and India in the upcoming Nehru Cup, and he is confident that his side will reach the finals of the five nation tournament.

According to Nepalese media reports, Thapa revealed his target of the tournament at a press conference held to announce his squad of 21 players for Nehru Cup 2012.

“Since we know nothing about Cameroon and Syria, we would make plans after observing their matches in Delhi”.

Nepal will start their campaign with the match against Maldives on August 23 and will next meet Cameroon on August 26. After taking on hosts India on August 28, Nepal will wrap up their campaign with a match against Syria two days later. Top two teams will advance to the September 2 final.

Thapa also said that he is confident that his side will reach the final of the five nation round robin basis tournament.

“We did not get enough time to prepare the team, but the fitness level of the players has made me confident in making it to the final”.

According to Nepalese media reports, Thapa said that he will finalize his 20 players after reaching Delhi.
