New Radiant 2-0 VB Addu FC: New Radiant continue winning record

Male', MALDIVES – New Radiant SC has won their 12 out 12th game in Dhiraagu Dhivehi League 2013, after beating VB Addu FC 2 – 0 in the match played this evening. Ali Ashfaq and Umair scored the goals for New Radiant.

In the 14th minute of the game, Ashfaq created the first dangerous attempt of the game. Ashfaq’s volley from outside the penalty area went inches over the crossbar.

Two minutes later Ashfaq gifted the lead for New Radiant. Fasir delivered a beautiful pass and Ashfaq sent the lower shot in to the goal giving no chance to Ziyazan.

Ziaan could have leveled the game for VB in the 31st minute. Ziaan got a loose ball from inside the penalty area, but his close range shot was too much elevated and went over the crossbar.

VB goalkeeper Ziyazan made some outstanding saves in the final quarter of the first half. Ziyazan saves Ashfaq's shot from left flank in the 33rd minute, Ali Umaru fired the rebounded ball from edge of the penalty are but it went again direct in to Ziyazan’s hand.

Three minutes later it came another good save from Ziyazan, he dived and saved Fasir's shot from outside the penalty area.

In the first minute of the second half, Ali Uamru missed a golden chance for New Radiant, Ashfaq delivered a through pass and when only keeper to beat Ali Umar shoots the ball but it went out from near the post.

Seven minutes in to the second half New Radiant was awarded with a penalty kick when keeper Ziyazan brought down Ashfaq inside the penalty area. Umair comfortably scored from the spot and doubled the lead.

Niyaz missed the most open chance of the game, probably miss of the season in the 64th minute. Ashfaq delivered a good cross to Niyaz, but his free header from near the goal line hit the post.

Six minutes later, New Radiant saw another miss chance, this time Lily's close range shot went across the goal.

Ziyazan produced a good save on Yaamin’s shot from inside the penalty area in the 72nd minute. And a while later another miss chance came from Fasir. Ziyazan blocked Ashfaq’s shot and when Fasir got the rebounded ball to shoot to an empty net he fired wide.

VB could not do much on attack, but Imran was forced to save an attempt from Ziaan in the final minutes of the game, which tend to be the last chance of the game.

This loss harms the league bottom side VB Addu FC’s relegation survival target as they have only 2 matches remaining in the second round to escape from bottom 2. If VB fails to get over from BG Sports Club and Club Valencia in their upcoming matches VB have to face the relation fight.

In the next game in Dhiraagu Dhivehi League 2013, Maziya will play against Victory SC on Saturday at 16pm.
