Maldives national team coach Istvan Urbanyi said that he will finalize the final squad after a final word from Shakeeb

Male’, MALDIVES – Maldives national team coach Istvan Urbanyi has said that the positive thing from the Thailand tour is the effort of the players.

Speaking at a press conference held at FAM house today, Urbanyi said that the first game against Osotspa was a very good match and the second match was not good.

“The first match against Osotspa was a very good game but the field condition was not very good but the match went according to our game plan.”

“Unfortunately the other game was useless completely. We have to wait there for two hours to play that match. They host a function just before the game and we tried to cancel the match but because of that function we cannot cancel it.” He said.

He also said that three players were injured and he will take a final decision after the consultation of the team physician Shakeeb.

“Zaad, Rilwan and Easa all were injured and I have to wait until a final confirmation from Shakeeb. Easa played in the second game and we cannot see any problem from his side. But still I want to confirm his condition before finalizing the team.”

Maldives will play their first game against Sri Lanka on 2nd September. Maldives team will travel to Nepal on 28th night according to FAM.

Istvan Urbanyi is not the down fall of Maldives national football team. It is due to the lack of effort and commitment from the Football Association of Maldives (F.A.M) to develop better players and teams from Maldives.

Hi guys. Why you guys do not like the idea of expanding SAFF Championship and making it togher and stronger??? I have said this couple of days ago but received many dislikes. But i really want to see a more beautifull SAFF Championship. Curenlty the most successfull team, India, is not (was not and will not) playing a beautifull football. Because nomatter how horrible they play, they get trophies!!!! I want a change for this. I want to see the best team to win. I want the beatufull/quality football to be rewarded. ::: And my research found out that there is no cup like this in Central Asia (Tajikistan (114), Uzbekistan (59), Turkmenistan (125), Kyrgyzstan (135)). So i guess we could add them to SAFF or change the name as a whole and start to call CASAFF ( Central and South Asian Football Federation). These teams are much stronger teams then in this region. Specially Uzbekistan, they are miles away. Yes, by invinting these teams we might be the underdogs and might never reach to final in a near future. But this is better for me coz the winners will be playing beautifull football unlike India, who is the current leader!!!!

I guess you don't know which striking force to use ... Better use the most learhal and creative one which NEWradiant is having and play in that formation ... You can try assako or akko or anybody .. But play with that formation .. As it would be really hard for umair Dhagey and Centey to play in another way as they have been playing same way under popov and they prove it in AFC which is better than most of saff teams and in Maldives tournaments .. No team this year had any idea to stop Dhagey umair Centey and Ayya ..

Yes, i have heard that from somewhere??? i do not know when and where!!! And if China really wants to join its a very good sign. It will help commercially for the tournament as well. ::: And last but not least. Please do not call me by "Sir", i am not a Boss!!!! hehe. I know its in your culture, and show your respect towards me but here in Maldives its somewhat odd to call like that!!!!
