Director of national teams, Ali Suzain said that there won't be any date change for SAFF Championship

Male', MALDIVES - Speaking to media today Suzain said that they haven’t received any answer regarding delaying the tournament but there won’t be any date change for SAFF championship.

“We have done all what we can do for that. We haven’t received an answer yet. It’s believed that there won’t be any change of date of SAFF championship. Because if the tournament is shifted to December, Nepal’s temperature would be around 7-8 degree Celsius. So none of the countries will want to play in that temperature."

Suzain also said that India being the most influential country, they also wouldn’t won’t to change the date depending on their league and other things.

“The most influential country is India, and the current date is the best date for them depending on their league and other things. November is the busiest time for WSG, AFC cup final and champion’s league final will be played on November. So they won’t divert their concentration to other areas”

New Radiant sent three letters to Sports Minister, FAM and former FAM president to work on to delay SAFF championship as they don’t get enough time to prepare the team for AFC cup quarterfinal match against Kuwait SC.

SAFF championship is scheduled to hold on 1st to 11th September. New Radiant will face Kuwait FC on the first leg of AFC cup quarter final on 17th September.
