Don’t like to see a political figure to head this important body. As past experiences have shown us they are more eager to promote the party they represent rather than the real job at hand. Football becomes a by-product, a sideshow, a secondary aspect of their life at FAM. Their work revolves around piggybacking their members and candidates to the stadium during big tournaments, going out of their way to attract attention for their purported candidate almost to the extent of trivialising an important occasion for football fan. But then in Maldives, where a football team manager’s appointment get more preference if he can provide more logistical support to the national team than much highly merited priorities, you never know what will happen. Politicians strangely wield more power and somehow get selected irrespective of more worthy candidates.

I really hope a non-political football and nation-oriented personality takes the helm.
