Male’, MALDIVES – New Radiant Sports Club won the match against All Youth Linkage (AYL) by 5-0 in today’s Dhiraagu Dhivehi League match and they are just a point behind to defend the title but the title can also be handed to them if Maziya fails to win their next game.

New Radiant started the match with high pace and created good chances. Mohamed Umair made their first attempt in the 16th minute; his shot inside the six-yard box went straight to the keeper.

New Radiant broke the deadlock in the 21st minute from a gorgeous free kick in the middle of AYL’s half by Umair.

In the 30th minute, New Radiant’s Ali Ashfaq doubled the lead from a superb spot kick. Referee awarded the penalty for a foul committed by Ahmed Zubair of AYL on Ashfaq.

New Radiant started the second half after the introduction of their newly joined duo, Akram Abdul Ghani and Ismail Easa.

Six minutes after the break Ali Ashfaq scored another brilliant goal from a stunning shot.

Twenty minutes later Ismail Easa scored his first goal for his new club from a descent cross by Ali Ashfaq.

Three minutes before the normal time Ahmed Niyaz scored an easy goal from Hussain Niyaz’s cross from the right flank and changed the score to 5-0.

With this win New Radiant gets 42 points from 14 matches. While second place Maziya got 25 points from 13 matches. If Maziya lost or drew the match against Eagles tonight, New Radiant will be the champions.
