BG Sports 1-1 Victory: Victory to league qualifying

Male’, MALDIVES – Victory Sports club failed to advance to the final round of dhivehi league and had to fight for the league promotion after 18 years as they made a draw against BG Sports by 1-1 in the last match of the second round of Dhiraagu Dhivehi League.

Ibrahim Fazeel made BG Sports’ first attempt on target from a free kick taken by RIstic, but his shot went over the bar.

Victory’s Ibrahim Sinan broke the deadlock in the 20th minute from a penalty, when referee gave them a penalty for a foul committed by Faruhadh Ismail on Shafraz inside the area.

Eight minutes later, Ashad beats the defender inside the box and shoots from the edge of the six-yard box, but defender Faisal blocked the shot.

In the 40th minute Ristic made another good shot on target but keeper Fairooz punched it away from the danger zone.

Two minutes later Ashad made another good shot inside the box but it went over the bar.

Nine minutes after the break BG Sports’ Ahmed Rilwan leveled the game from a superb shot just out side the box.

In the last minute of the game Hassan Adhuham of BG Sports missed a golden opportunity to take the lead but his shot went inches away from the post.

With this draw Victory lies in the 7th rank with 12 points from 14 matches. Victory along with VB Addu FC had to play dhivehi league qualifying and this will be the first time that the national tournament will be played without Victory Sports Club in the history of 41 years.
