Result is important – Lee

Male’, MALDIVES – Singapore’s Home United team coach Lee Lim Saeng has said that the most important thing is the result when facing New Radiant in the first match of the AFC Cup this year.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference held at FAM House, Lee said that he doesn’t want to speak about the negative things about Maldives football and the most important thing is the result.

“I don’t want to say anything negative about Maldives football. Result is important even though we won our last 8 games against Maldives teams. We will respect New Radiant in tomorrow’s game.”

He also expressed his thoughts about the match they lost to Tampines Rovers.

“I am happy with the performance in our last game against Tampines Rovers even though we lost the game. We need to improve a lot and we will do our level best to win tomorrow’s game against New Radiant.”

Lee also reiterated that he doesn’t know much about Maldives football but they have some players who came here quite few times to play and they have a good knowledge about Maldives football.

“Actually I don’t know much about Maldives football but our captain knows Maldives football very well and he came to Maldives quite few times. And what I know is Maldives football is improving very fast.”

Lee also added that they have some injured players and they are not in a position to select their best team.

“Unfortunately we came to Maldives with 16 players and 8 players are injured and I have to focus for the 90 minutes with these players. Even if it’s a defensive or attacking game the result is the most important thing.”
