DLQ: Victory 3-0 Mecano - Qualifying boost for reds

Male’, MALDIVES – Substitute player Hussain Shimaz scored twice against Sports Club Mecano in the ongoing Dhivehi League Qualification to hand Victory a 3-0 win that will boost their chance of qualifying. Victory’s Channa scored the opener in the first half.

Victory created their first chance in the fourth minute, Shafeeu made a good header from a cross by Shanoon but it went over the bar.

Victory’s Sri Lankan striker Channa broke the deadlock in the 12th minute after a good cross by Shafraz. He penetrated the defense line and supplied the ball to Channa and his shot went straight to the net.

In the 39th minute shafraz made a good header inside the box but went straight to the gloves of the keeper.

Eight minutes after the break, Kaka scored from a corner kick but before the ball crosses the goal line Sinaz fouled on keeper Ali Abdulla and referee gave a free kick to Mecano.

In the 61st minute, Channa supplied a good ball into the box but Shimaz's stunning header inside the box went over the bar.

Two minutes later Shimaz penetrated the defense line and gave a good ball to Nihan but his shot hits the post.

In the 72nd minute Shimaz made another good shot inside the box but went wide.

Three minutes later Hussain Shimaz doubled the lead for Victory from a stunning shot from a very tight angle. Liyah penetrated the defense line and gave a good ball to Shimaz and his shot inside the box hits the roof of the net.

In the 81st minute Shimaz scored from another stunning header inside the six-yard box from a decent cross from the right flank by Liyah.

In the next match of Dhivehi League Qualification VB Addu FC will play against Sports Club Mecano on Wednesday.
