Second and third division voting teams finalized

Male’, MALDIVES – BG Sports, Sports Club Mecano and Red Line Club of second division will join Mukurimagu and Club Velozia of third division as voting teams from second and third division in tomorrow night's FAM election.

Those five teams who won the primary held at FAM house this evening and the eight teams of first division will decide the administration of FAM.

Second division six clubs; BG Sports, Red Line Club, Club Mecano, Hurriyya Sports Club, United Victory and Gaamagu presented for the primary today.

The elected three teams from the second division were supporting MP Ilham Ahmed while the third division two teams were supporting current president Ali Azim.

It is believed that Ilham Ahmed will win the election based on how today’s primary results unfolded. He has the support of first divisions four clubs namely; VB Addu FC, Club Eagles, Maziya and AYL.

After the primary the supporters of Ilham celebrated near the FAM house today.

The elections was first postponed on 18th July 2012 after the elections was brought to a halt over United Victory’s vote. For the second time it was brought to a halt after claims that FIFA and AFC officials met with suspended VB Addu FC board member Shaveedh and FAM executive committee without the knowledge of the elections committee and decided to cancel the voting rights of United Victory.
