AYL 2-0 Eagles: AYL secures top four

Male’, MALDIVES – All Youth Linkage (AYL) has secured a top four place for the first time after beating Club Eagles by 2-0 in Dhiraagu Dhivehi League last night.

AYL, who has made surprising results in the league, created their first attempt in the 20th minute, keeper cleared Solah’s free kick and he saved the attempt made by Adhil from the rebounded ball.

AYL’s Ahmed Zubair broke the dead lock in the 21st minute, AYL player headed Solah's corner kick inside the box and ball reflected back after hitting the cross bar. Zubair shoots the re bounced ball to score the opener.

Six minutes later, Bahajath doubled the score for AYL. Solah delivered a good ball to Abu inside the box and his weak shot went wide off the goal. Bahajath received the ball from the left edge of the six-yard box and made no mistake to send the ball to the goal.

Nine minutes before the normal time, Adil took a beautiful cross from the right flank and Abu attempted the ball but he missed the ball.

With this win AYL managed to get 24 points from 19 games and they are in the 3rd position of the league.

AYL coach Ahmed Nashid said after the match that it was a huge success for the club.

“This is a huge success for this club. The players did a great job and it was all because of their hard work.”

He also said that they beat any team other than New Radiant and they hope that they can play in the final of National team.

It could be either Valencia or BG that joins New Radiant, Maziya and AYL into the top four and qualify for the President's Cup. A draw is enough for BG but Valencia needs to win the game to make it to the top four.
