India 1-0 Pakistan: Narrow win for India

Kathmandu, NEPAL – India has won their first challenge of the SAFF Championship 2013, with a narrow 1 – 0 against Pakistan in the match played today.

The only goal of the game came in the first half reason to an own goal by Pakistani defender.

Fifteen minutes in to the game India was brought front with the own goal scored by Samar Ishaq. Ishaq tried to clear a cross from India but the ball ended in to his own goal while keeper also moved to ball.

After the goal Pakistan dominated the midfield and put more pressure on neighbors’ but first half ended in one goal advantage to India.

Ten minutes remaining in first half Pakistan went close to a leveler. Hassan Basir’s shot from inside the penalty area hit the crossbar and bounced back in to paly.

In the 44th minute of the game, Kalim missed another chance for Pakistan, this time India goalkeeper Subrata came out to save the shot from inside the penalty area.

Seventy sixth minute of the game Sunil Chettri missed a golden chance to extend the lead for India. Jewl delivered a good pass to Chettri, but his shot from inside the penalty area missed the target.

In the next minute, Pakistan goalkeeper produced a good save on Sunil Chettri’s shot from outside the penalty area. Keeper made a good effort to dive and punch the ball in clearing the danger.

Ten minutes remaining in the clock Chettri missed another chance, this time his shot went across face of the goal.

After the final whistle of the game India assured all 3 points from the game, but fall them in the second place of Group-A with goal difference to Nepal who won their match against Bangladesh 2 – 0 yesterday.

In the next game of the tournament in Group-B, Afghanistan will play against Bhutan tomorrow at 14:45 while Maldives will line-up against Sri Lanka at 17:45 same day.

Pakistan was just unlucky, they showed a very good performance today. if they play the current football they could beat Nepal Evan though Nepal have a big crowed.
