Male, MALDIVES - Maziya Sports and Recreation Club was beaten by BG Sports in their first match of the third round of Dhiraagu Dhivehi League by 3-2 last night. With this result New Radiant won the league without playing a single match in round 3.

Maziya started the match with high pace after the arrival of Mukhuthar Naseer and Mohamed Rasheed from Valencia.

Maziya's Ahmed Nashid broke the deadlock in the 10th minute, He escaped from the off side trap and beat the keeper and sent the ball to the empty goal.

Sixteen minutes later, Nashid headed Asadulla's cross from the left flank to the top right corner of the goal and doubled the lead. Keeper could slightly touch the ball but couldn't stop the ball going inside the goal.

BG's Ousmane scored their first goal in the 39th minute, He headed BG player's cross to the goal giving no chance for the keeper to save.

In the 56th minute, BG lost a great scoring chance, Ousmane took a nice low cross from the right side of Maziya penalty area and Ristic nicely shoots after controlling, keeper Imran punched the ball for a corner.

Ashad Ali leveled the game for BG Sports in the 63rd minute, his header inside the box went straight to the net from a free kick taken by Ahmed Ashfan.

BG Sports took the lead for the first time in the 73rd minute after wonderful solo performance from Ashad Ali. He dribbled with the ball from the center line right flank and beats the defender inside the box and shot to the left bottom corner of the goal.

With this result second placed Maziya got 28 points from 15 matches and the league leaders New Radiant has already got 42 points from 14 matches and they are back to back league champions. And they are also the first side to win the league as early as without playing a single game in round three and also with a 100% winning record.
