New Radiant Sports Club, who has already won the Milo Charity Shield and Dhiraagu Dhivehi League in this season, claimed that Football Association of Maldives has not paid them the prize money. The prize money of both Milo Charity Shield and Dhiraagu Dhivehi League is MVR100,000 each and the winner of Charity Shield will have to donate MVR20,000 for an NGO.
Speaking at a press conference held at FAM House today, New Radiant's director of football Anwar Ali said the club has tried to get a concrete answer from FAM through letters, phone calls and other means but so far not fruitful.
"We have been trying to get an answer for delay in money from FAM but we didn't get a genuine answer from FAM. Sadly, we have to say they haven't even replied to our letter" Anwar added.
Anwar said the club must not only receive the prize money of charity shield and dhivehi league but also the funds from tournament sponsors as well as money from match audience.
"I don't know about other clubs, but we haven't receive any funds from dhivehi league sponsors as well as ticket money"
In the press conference New Radiant confirmed they will continue their preparation fro the AFC Cup game with national team players, who arrived last night, from today.
"We are very thankful for youth ministry for arranging national stadium for club practices" club coordinator Ibrahim Shaaz Habeeb said.
