Male’, MALDIVES – Newly appointed manager of national team MP Ahmed Mahloof has said that he was happy to accept the offer and it was a dream to be a member of Maldives national team.

Speaking in the press conference held at Nasandhura Palace Hotel this evening, Mahloof said he has played football in national level and it was a dream of him to play for the national team.

“I have played for Under 16, 19, 23 and New Radiant and Valencia. And it was a dream of mine to play for (senior) national team but unfortunately I didn’t have that opportunity but I am happy to be a member of the national team.”

Mahloof also said that he will try his level best to be a successful manager.

“I will try my level best to be a successful manager with the national team. I know there are many things that we need to sort out even within the team. And I hope everyone including the players and the management of FAM would give full support to make that happen.”

He also said that this was his first experience as a manager of the team and there would be challenges.

“I know it will be a challenging job for me but I am confident that I can manage a team about 20 players and officials. This was my first experience as a manger of a team and if I fail to manage then I will resign on my own.”

Mahloof also reiterated that he has some ideas to motivate the players.

“As president said we need financial assistance and I have some ideas to do that and we will work hard as a team to do that.”

Mahloof’s first duty as the manager of national team will be the three friendly games against Seychelles later this month.
