Male’, MALDIVES – Vice President of Football Association of Maldives, Abdul Muhusin Hameed (J4) has said that the financial situation of the association is not good.
Speaking at the press conference held at Nasandhura Palace Hotel, J4 said that they are getting court orders as well to settle the bills of 2009 and 2010.
“We are getting bills of 2009 and 2010 and last week we got a court order regarding an outstanding payment of 2010.”
"We have finished the internal audit of FAM and we will take necessary actions based on that report."
He also tells about the bank balance of the association when they start to work there.
“When we came to the association the bank balance of Rufiyaa account is 108 K and the balance of dollar account was about USD 800.00”
“We heard from the media that the previous management promised to give the cash prize of USD 15K to the under 23 players who won the Mahinda Raja Paksa Invitational Tournament held in Colombo.”
“But that amount was not in the account and even we didn’t see it from the bank statement that amount was deposited to FAM’s account.”
“So, how can we give that money to the players when we didn’t receive it?”
J4 also said that they wanted to bring a good coach but they couldn’t afford to bring a coach with a salary of USD 20 K per month.
“There are many good coaches and even they have showed their interest to work here. But we could not afford to bring a coach with a salary of USD 20 K per month.”
Football Association of Maldives president Ilham Ahmed has said that they will finalize a coach next week.
