Male’, MALDIVES – Maziya Sports and Recreation Club’s forward Mukhuthar Naseer is included in the national team squad preparing for the upcoming friendly games against Seychelles.

Speaking to maldivesoccer.com national team caretaker coach Ali Nashid (Ogaru Ayya) said that Mukhuthar is included in the squad and he will join the team soon.

“Mukhuthar is included in the squad and he will join the team soon. He is in his home island, Thoddoo at the moment but he will join the team tomorrow if the weather is fine to travel.”

Mukhuthar, scored the only goal against India in the final of the 2008 SAFF Championship to win the maiden championship in an international tournament.

Maldives started the practice on Monday with few players.

Mukhuthar was not included in the national team when they participated in the SAFF Championship this year due to an injury.

National team goal keeper Imran Mohamed is not in the squad due to an injury and goal keeper Mohamed Imran of Maziya and Mohamed Ifrah of BG Sports will be available to replace the veteran stopper.

Maldives will play three friendly games against Seychelles on 25, 27 and 29th of this month
