DLQ: VB Addu FC 4-2 Mecano - VB moves to top

Male’, MALDIVES – VB Addu FC beat Sports Club Mecano by 4-2 this evening in the ongoing Dhivehi League Qualifier to go on top of the four team table and increased their chance of remaining in the top division.

Mecano dominated the first 20 minutes of the game and they broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute. Adam Imran penetrated the defense line and shot it into the bottom corner of the net.

Six minutes later, Awilo supplied a good ball into the box and Ismail Juhain Zahir scored to level the game.

A minute later, Awilo beat his marker and shot it into the right bottom corner of the net to take the lead.

In the 36th minute, Mecano’s keeper Ali Abdulla made a world class save to stop a stunning header from Juhain on target from the cross taken by Awilo from right flank.

Three minutes later, Shah scored and leveled the game. Imran supplied a good ball into the box from a free kick and Shah's header went straight to the bottom corner of the net.

Two minutes after the break Shamveel Wasim made another good shot on target but keeper Ali Abdulla saved the ball.

VB took the lead for the second time in the 51st minute, substitute player Victor’s shot just out side the box went straight to the roof of the net.

In the 71st minute, Mohamed Thoriq supplied a good ball into the box from right flank and Viktor scored from it to ensure a safer passage in the qualification.
