DLQ: Victory 2-4 Mahibadhoo: Pressure on Victory

Male’, MALDIVES – Mahibadhoo Sports Club has won the Dhivehi League Qualifier against Victory Sports Club by 4-2 this evening and put one of the greatest football clubs of the country on the verge of relegating to second division.


Mahibadhoo’s foreign player, Rodrigue Tahi made a good shot just out side the box but went inches over the bar.

Mahibadhoo’s Hisam Saleem broke the deadlock from a superb volley inside the box.

In the 29th minute Rodrigue Tahi made another stunning shot on target but keeper Lavent Vanli punched it away.

In the last minute before the break Victory missed a golden opportunity to level the game. Ali Shifau made a good shot inside the box but keeper blocked it and from rebounded ball he made another shot but went wide.

Mahibadhoo doubled the lead just a minute after the break, Rodrigue Tahi made a superb cross into the box and Mohamed Junaid’s header went straight to the goal.

In the 56th minute, Channa supplied a good ball into the box and Shimaz made a stunning shot but it was blocked.

Three minutes later Rodrigue Tahi penetrated the defense line and pass it to unmarked Ativie and his shot went straight to the goal.

In the 70th minute, Shafraz penetrated the defense line and scored. His powerless shot went straight to the left bottom corner of the goal.

Three minutes later Shafraz scored his second of the day from a superb shot. Keeper blocked the first attempt on target from Channa's corner kick but Shafraz's shot hits the roof of the net from the rebounded ball.

In the additional time Channa made a good shot on target but keeper blocked it and Ali Shifau made another shot from the rebounded ball but be cleared it too.

A minute before the final wistle Rodrigue Tahi supplied another good ball to Mohamed Junaid and made the score to 4-2.

With this win Mahibadhoo moved to the top of the qualifier and Victory are in hot water. If they want to qualify for next year’s Dhivehi League they must win the match against VB Addu FC.
