New Radiant Sports Club departs to Kuwait today for their away leg of AFC Cup quarter final game against defending champions Kuwait SC.

New Radiant will arrive Kuwait early morning of Sunday and will have practices on Sunday and Monday before they face the champions on Tuesday.

Kuwait SC easily came out victorious in Male' as they beat New Radiant by 7-2, courtesy of 6 goals without a reply in the first half.

Kuwait SC have won the tournament twice and are semi finalists in four occasions in the last five years.

Tuesday's game will kick off at 1930hrs Kuwait Time, which is 2130hrs Maldives time.

New Radiant will return on 26th September (Thursday).

New Radiant's run into the quarter finals of AFC Cup is their second appearance in the last eight, while they were beaten in the semi finals in 2005. No other club from Maldives has gone beyond group stage in the AFC Cup.

If New Radiant go through AFC should investigate both teams for match-fixing hehehe. Seriously though, if they perform like the way they did in the 2nd half, I would be happy even with a draw. Maldivian teams have a horrible record when playing in Middle-Eastern countries, let's hope it's not going to be the case this time.
