New Radiant chairman, Ali Waheed said that they will stop the players if they got a good offer.

Male’, MALDIVES – New Radiant Sports Club’s chairman Ali Waheed (Balak) has said that they will not stop any player or official if they get a better offer than New Radiant and welcome to that for the betterment of football.

Speaking at a press conference held at FAM House last night, Balak said that they are happy with the opportunity for the coach and they will go on the same road if a player got an offer like that.

“We are happy with the offer received for our coach and it will give us a good name to the club as well as the country. And we will go on the same road as this if we receive an offer to any player in our squad.”

Balak also said that they got some offer for some key players of the club and they are negotiating with them for the betterment of the players even now.

“We got some offers for the players including Asfhaq, he is one of the best strikers in the region and still we are in negotiations with them.”

“I want to tell the supporters that we will release the players even they are important to us. We are working for the betterment of football and if a Maldivian player got an offer to play abroad, it will give us a good name to the club and the country. So we will release the players in the future as well.”

Balak also said that he is happy with the way Popov treated the club in this time.

“Popov informed everything to me and we were aware that coach got offer from other clubs. I know that the foreign coaches who have worked in the Maldives didn’t leave us like this. Still we are friends and it was a happy ending.”

I don't mind seeing a few Maldivian players following Popov to Oman. If they leave, they should go to clubs that play in the AFC Champions League or the Middle-East. Don't go to Malaysia or Indonesia, as their leagues are not any stronger than the Dhivehi League.
